Forty

While I may have technically only gained 24 pounds while I was pregnant, I did manage to get all the way up to 214 pounds. That's a LOT on a 5'4" frame. Right before I got pregnant I was at my heaviest weight of all time. I had never been that fat before and had actually set out to try and lose a few pounds after the new year. Obviously, it didn't really happen. Here is a photo of me a little over a week after the baby was born:

I didn't quite realize how fat my face had gotten until I saw this photo several months later! YIKES! The fact that the shirt I was wearing had a lot of stretch in it wasn't helping matters either.

Here I am today:

I'm down to about 177 lbs. This means I've lost almost 40 pounds! This is the lightest I've been in years. Of course, my skirt is a bit snug because I do have all that extra flesh around my middle now (thanks Bubba!) but overall, I'm pretty dang pleased. I bought that top a few months ago on sale and it was so tight I could barely get it over my head.

Did I diet? Nope. Did I exercise? Um, barely! Ladies, if you are on the fence about breastfeeding, I'm telling you, if you can't bring yourself to do it for the benefits to your child, perhaps the addition of the benefits to yourself will be enough to push you over the edge. I lost that baby weight with a quickness and now I'm losing MY OWN weight.

Thank you, Bubba!
