babywearing

I took the little man for a stroll around the park this afternoon. I had wanted to do it before, but I would have had to make several trips up and down the stairs to get the stroller down, then the carseat with the baby inside... and I'm not allowed to lift anything heavier than the baby anyway, so I've just been stuck inside.

But now, I have my little kangaroo pouch!

I got all the straps adjusted this afternoon while he was sleeping, and after I got him fed, changed, and dressed, I loaded him up and we headed out.

It was so nice. We took a leisurely stroll around the park next to our apartment complex. The weather is absolutely perfect right now - slightly cool, but not overly so. I was just wearing a thin tee shirt over my nursing tank top and jeans. I put Sawyer in a thin pair of footie pajamas.

(speaking of feet, can I just tell you how happy I was to be able to put on socks and tennis shoes by myself today, without gasping for breath or having to contort my body to reach?)

Sawyer actually stayed awake for the whole walk, which really surprised me. He just sat in that carrier and looked around. I can't imagine he saw much because I think their vision is still pretty limited at this point, but I suppose he can see general outlines of things like trees, and of course he can see me because I'm close enough. When we got home I decided to take a picture, and he pretty much fell asleep while I was trying to figure out how to get a decent shot.

I actually still have him in the carrier, because I was going to go peel some potatoes for dinner, but I decided to do this first. He's so stinking cute.

I sure do like this kid!
