Mum's the Word

One of the little boys in Bubba's playgroup just turned one, so last Saturday we took Bubba to his first birthday party to celebrate. It was fun because all the husbands came too, so I got to meet a lot of the dads and my husband got to meet all of Bubba's little friends. There was a cowboy theme and all of the babies got little sheriff badges as name tags. Too cute. I'll have to post pics later.

While we were there, someone (coughcoughBubbacough) was getting a bit fussy, so we decided to leave right after the presents were opened. Well, it started to look like we weren't going to make it that long, when one of the other moms offered him one of these:

These are now one of my Favorite Baby Things on Earth. They're these weird little rice crackers that melt in your mouth, even better than the puffs melt in your mouth. Unlike the Puffs, these have no weird chemical ingredients. The entire ingredient list is rice, potato starch, sugar, and sea salt. (the ingredient list on the website is different for some reason than on the package) They're faintly sweet and have a crispy texture.

I'll give him half of one at a time and he LOVES them. It puts an immediate stop to the fussies. They're great for when I'm making him something to eat and he just needs something to keep him busy for a few minutes. It's so cute to look at him holding one and chewing on it like a big kid! Last night I even got him to crawl across the living room toward me by holding one out for him.

They come in the original flavor, and then a vegetable flavor, which he likes also. They're only two bucks for a good sized box too. I've only found them at Walmart so far, in the baby section. Totally worth a trip.
