All About Baby - Week 32

Just like me, my unborn baby will establish a daily routine. At times he is active and wiggly, while at other times I can't feel his movements. Once he is born, he'll most likely continue with his in-utero pattern. Along with a routine, he has favorite positions too. A favorite of many unborn babies is to have their heads down, rumps up towards the ribs (conveniently, the perfect position for labor).

How Big Is Baby?

He weighs around four pounds and stretches to over 11 and one-half inches in length (crown to rump). He is taking up more and more space in my uterus and weighs as much as a large jicama -- about 3 3/4 pounds. (Length: about 16 3/4 inches, head to heel.)

The thirty-second week of pregnancy is a big milestone. From this point on, a baby can be born and be perfectly healthy, and if he's at a good weight, he may not even need to spend much time in the hospital. Once a woman's pregnancy reaches this point, it is a good idea to start getting everything ready. (If you wait until the last weeks of pregnancy, you may find you waited too long!)
